Cytotype

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cytotype or a chromosome race is a clan within a species , mostly in plants , which differs from the other clans of the species by their chromosome number or other chromosome features, if these differences do not result in any morphological differences.

One example is the burdock bedstraw , which occurs in three ploidy levels without these clans differing morphologically.
