The KKS Czarni Sosnowiec (Kolejowy Klub Sportowy Czarni Sosnowiec) is a Polish football club from the city of Sosnowiec ( German  Sosnowitz ) in the Silesian Voivodeship . The club is known for its women's division, which is the Polish record champion of Ekstraliga Kobiet with 12 titles .

history

The club was founded in 1924, the women's football department was established in 1974. In 1980, women won the Polish championship for the first time, which was achieved 11 times by 2000. They have also won the cup 11 times so far, most recently in 2001/02. Due to financial problems, the club went downhill and at the end of the 2007/08 season they had to relegate from the Ekstraliga. There they made the play-offs in 2008/09, but then clearly failed. Since 2014, Czarni Sosnowiec has been playing in the top division again.
