DÖDOC

DÖDOC is the name of a joint surveying network between Germany and Austria , which was measured using Doppler satellites in the 1970s .

The acronym stands for German-Austrian Doppler Campaign and was carried out in several sub-campaigns, in which 6–7 ground stations observed the NNSS satellites simultaneously for several days. The resulting accuracy of this supra-regional control network " zero order " increased through this targeted use of satellite geodesy from 1 to 2 meters per 1000 km to around 20 cm, which meant a significantly improved frame of reference for the two national surveys .

In later measurement campaigns, Switzerland also joined this geodetic cooperation. Rudolf Sigl (TU Munich) and Karl Rinner (TU Graz) were leaders in the project ; the field crews and Doppler receivers were of some university departments provided and official institutions.
