The old languages in the classroom ( DASiU ) is the newsletter of the regional associations of Bavaria and Thuringia in the German Association of Classical Philology .

The magazine is a political and didactic periodical for Latin and Greek at schools and universities and is therefore distributed and received throughout Germany. Like the bulletin of the German classical philology association Forum Classicum , the magazine is published quarterly by CC Buchners Verlag Bamberg .

The first edition appeared in 1953. Until 1993 (year 43) DASiU was the newsletter of the Bavarian regional association. Since 1994 it has also served the Thuringia regional association as an association magazine. All years from 1970 to 2007, parts of the years 2008 and 2009 as well as the editions from 1962 and 1968 are indexed online.

The Berlin classical philologist Friedrich Maier has been the publisher since 1980 (together with Günter Wojaczek until 1997 ).
