The DBS Bank ( DBS Bank Limited星展银行), headquartered in Singapore is the largest bank in Southeast Asia . It was founded in 1968 by the local government-run development finance institution and was called The Development Bank of Singapore Limited (新加坡 发展 银行) until July 2003 . The bank is listed in the Straits Times Index on the Singapore Exchange .
Temasek Holdings is the largest shareholder in the bank, along with Maju Holdings, which is part of it. The government thus continues to have a great influence on the institution.
