DFI is a Taiwanese hardware manufacturer of motherboards . The company was founded in 1981 by YC Lu and has since become an established company in the IT industry. DFI actually stands for Diamond Flower Inc. , but the term Design for Innovation is also used for marketing reasons . The company achieved international fame and various awards primarily through the Lanparty Series , which was developed especially for case modders and for overclocking . DFI has not yet released graphics cards, although the company includes them as part of its product range.

Another product line was the Infinity Series , which was also suitable for overclocking. Benchmarks often showed a good performance of the mainboards (see web links).

In 2010 DFI gave up the consumer motherboard business and concentrated on the production of components for industrial PCs.
