German Society for Biomedical Technology

The German Society for Biomedical Technology ( DGBMT ) is a specialist society of the Association of Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology (VDE) . It has more than 2500 members. It was founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1961. It has been part of the VDE since 2002.

The DGBMT promotes the development of medical technology in Germany in a non-profit manner. It achieves this through the interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge from research to clinical application as well as the development of statements, analyzes and recommendations on current questions and topics in medical technology and the networking of engineers, computer scientists, natural scientists and doctors from research, industry and clinic.
