The reinforcing steels approved for use in reinforced concrete are regulated in the DIN standard DIN 488 . There is currently no uniform European standard for reinforcing steel.
In detail these are:
- Reinforcing bars
- Reinforcing steel in rings , reinforcing wire
- Welded wire mesh
- Lattice girder

- Part 6: Reinforcing steel - Certificate of conformity - current edition 1.2010
- Part 7: Reinforcing steel - Proof of weldability of reinforcing steel, implementation and evaluation - Edition 6.1986, 11.2010 withdrawn without replacement
