DJ Sharpnel
DJ Sharpnel is a stage name of the Japanese musicians Jea and Lemmy. They release albums of their Happy Hardcore , Speedcore , Gabber and Trance works through their dojin label Sharpnelsound .
Origin and style of music
DJ Sharpnel was born when Jea joined Project Gabbangelion and they later released the album “Sharpnel vs. Project Gabbangelion ”. DJ Sharpnel's tracks are often brightened up with Japanese pop music or spoken samples from various anime .
Much of the Sharpnel Sound records sold, as well as managed by the online radio station hardrave, is through Guhroovy, a primary hardcore record store located in Shibuya and distributed by DJ Chucky. Aside from her prolific discography, DJ Sharpnel has also produced tracks for other Japanese brands such as Maddest Chickn'dom, Ravin Beatz Japan and Gabba Disco.
Aliases
DJ Sharpnel has used different artist names for their release, depending on the specific style of the track or album. The most important aliases were "DJ Sharpnel" (standard hardcore and happy hardcore style, with Lemmy) and "Killingscum" (terror, speedcore, breakcore and style, only with Jea). SHARPNEL.NET is the name for the collaborative " performance project " of the Sharpnelsound label with Jea as live DJ and Lemmy as live VJ . According to her MySpace page, DJ Sharpnel is the name on the albums produced, Killingscum is the name when Jea has solo appearances. Besides Killingscum, Jea uses the name "DJ Jea".
Other group aliases were used when Jea and Lemmy collaborated with other artists e.g. B. Project Gabbangelion (with Jea, Viscion and Tangion) and High Speed Music Team Sharpnel (with Jea, La-Quebrata, Jun-Q, Quebradora, and Lemmy).
Discography
DJ Sharpnel's discography is very large, an estimated 53 albums that they have contributed to and at least ten albums that have their own songs on. Most of the albums in the SRPC series came in two versions. The first version was a CD-R, which was issued on Comiket , and a second, printed version, which was sold in stores. The CD-R versions were produced in smaller quantities and are therefore rarer and usually have a slightly different tracklist than the purchase version.
