Dachuan ( Chinese  达川 区 , Pinyin Dáchuān Qū ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Dazhou in the northeast of the Chinese province of Sichuan .

It emerged on July 18, 2013 from the Da (达县) district, which had an area of ​​2,688 km² and a population of around 1.3 million (2002). Part of Da County (Beimiao 碑 庙镇 and Jiangling 江陵 镇 Towns, Beishan 北 山乡, Anyun 安 云 乡, Zitong 梓 桐乡, Jinshi 金石 乡, Qingning 青 宁乡, Longtan 龙滩 乡 and Mengshuang 檬 双 乡) was previously separated and incorporated into the Tongchuan District .
