Dagaare is the West African language of the Dagaare and is used by 700,000 (2003) speakers in Ghana in the northwestern end, in the western part of the Upper West Region .

Alternative names are South Dagari, Dagari, Dagara, Degati, Dagati, Dagaari, and Dogaari.

Dialects of the Dagaare are Dagaare and Birifor, which partly coincide. Dagaare (South) is different from North Dagaare, which is spoken in Burkina Faso .
