Dagur og vika ( German day and week ) is a Faroese news program that is broadcast by the television station Sjónvarp Føroya . This is part of the public service broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya . Dagur og vika is considered to be the most important news program broadcast in Faroese .

history

Dagur og vika first aired in May 1984. It ran once a week until September 1, 1984, then twice. Foreign messages were flown in from Denmark by plane and were at least a day old before they were broadcast.

Since 2013 Dagur og vika can be seen four times a week. The program is broadcast every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday around 7 p.m. local time. The length of the program varies. The broadcast usually takes around 20 minutes, but it can also take a little longer if necessary.
