Robert Z'Dar (born June 3, 1950 in Chicago , Illinois as Robert J. Zdarsky , † March 30, 2015 in Pensacola , Florida ) was an American actor of Lithuanian origin.

life and career

Z'Dar gained his first theater experience in high school and later graduated from Arizona State University with a 'Bachelor of Fine Arts'. He then worked as a police officer in Chicago. He suffered from cherubism and was often used as a villain in films because of his distinctive facial features.

In order to advance his acting career, he finally moved to Hollywood , where he initially made his way as a supporting actor in various C-movies. In 1988 he was cast by William Lustig and Larry Cohen for the title role in Maniac Cop , in which he was seen as a zombie police officer only under heavy make-up. This role earned him two more appearances as a maniac cop, and a supporting role in the Stallone / Russell vehicle Tango and Cash . In 2011 he was in the direct-to-video production of Professor Cordell, a parody of Matt Cordell the cops from Maniac Cop in front of the camera.

The Mystery Science Theater 3000 gave it the title "A baseball glove with eyes".

Robert Z'Dar has appeared in more than 121 films.
