Lighthouse on the north-western cape of the island

Daksa is the smallest island in the Elaphite group near Dubrovnik. The area is 5 ha, the highest point 24 m, on the north-western cape of Daksa there is a lighthouse. For centuries it has been a meeting place for religious and monks from all over Europe who lived in a monastery in Daksa built by Sabo Getaldic in 1281. The tranquility corresponded to the Franciscans who lived here until Napoleon's army arrived in 1806. Today only the ruins of this monastery remain. Next to the monastery was the Church of St. Sabin, a four-story tower that served as a fortress and bell tower.
