The Dala Gorge

The Dala Gorge is a narrow and steeply sloping indentation on the territory of the municipality of Leukerbad in Upper Valais . It forms the first part of the Dala valley .

In 2004, the thermal spring footbridge over the Dala Gorge was opened. The almost 600 meter long footbridge leads into the gorge at least four meters high above the river bed. Up close you can see the rock layers that carry the thermal water . The nature trails are supervised by the Leukerbad Thermal Spring Guild. In summer, visitors can take part in guided tours. In autumn, depending on the weather, “mystical inspections” take place in the Dala Gorge.
