Dancecomp

The Dancecomp ( spelling : danceComp) is one of the largest annual dance sport festivals in Europe. The Tanzsportverband Nordrhein-Westfalen is the organizer, the venue is the historic town hall in Wuppertal .

In 2004 the first dancecomp took place in Wuppertal. 24 national tournaments were offered at the first major event. Twelve children, junior and youth tournaments with a total of 91 entries, two wheelchair tournaments with twelve couples and twelve in the main group and among the seniors. A total of 222 couples started.

In the meantime, the youth received their own international event with the "Winter Dance Festival".

In 2018, the 15th edition of this event, which always takes place at the beginning of July, was held. Numerous international couples registered for Friday to Sunday, July 6th to 8th, and by shortly before the closing date, more than 2,250 entries had been received from all over the world. Dance couples from 26 nations were there.
