from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The danda or rod is a measure of length in Kashmir especially for land surveying. It was also used as a square measure. As an Indian hour, it was the sixtieth part of the day, or 24 minutes .

  • 1 Danda = 4 Ilahy- Guz = 11 feet (engl.)

The area dimension was derived from the Bega:

  • 1 danda = 4 square guz
  • 1 Bega = 900 Danda
