Dangme is the language of the Dangme in Ghana with around 800,000 speakers (2004 SIL ). An alternative name is Adangme.
It is spoken in the southeast on the coast east of Accra and inland. The Bible was translated into this language in 1999.
Dialects of Dangme are Ada, Ningo, Prampram (Gbugbla) in the coastal area and Osudoku, Shai (Sɛ) and Krobo (Klo) in the interior.
