Live and act

Daniel Farrant was the son of Richard Farrant , a singer of the "Chapel Royal" and later choirmaster at St George's Chapel in Windsor. Daniel Farrant was a member of the "Kings Band" from 1606, where he was kept in the account books until 1625.

As instrument makers developed Farrant several variants of bowed and plucked instruments, which took place in the English consort music use, including special forms of gamba (Lyra Viol), cittern and Pandora . John Playford describes Farrant as the first instrument maker who is said to have developed a viola d'amore .
