Daniel bar Maryam
Daniel bar Maryam ("Daniel, son of Mary") was a late antique Syrian church historian who lived in the first half of the 7th century and is attested to around 660. He was a contemporary of the Catholicos Ischo-Jab III .
Very little is known about Daniel's life. However, he wrote a four-volume church history in Syrian . This was written from a Nestorian point of view and was also used later by other authors (for example by Georg von Arbela in the 10th century), but has not survived. However, it served as a source for Seert's chronicle . In addition, Daniel looked at the calendar and wrote an explanation.
