Danske Sømands- og Udlandskirker

The Danske Sømands- og Udlandskirker ( DSUK - Danish Maritime and Foreign Churches ) is the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church outside the borders of Denmark . The Danish Church in South Schleswig belongs to it .

It includes a church in Australia , three in Asia , four in South and seven in North America, churches in Hamburg and Berlin as well as in Geneva and others in seven other European cities. The Danish Church in southern Schleswig consists of 35 congregations with around 6,800 members, who are looked after by 23 pastors and a provost (currently Viggo Jacobsen).

The DSUK emerged from the union of the Danish Seaman's Church, founded in 1867, and the Danish Abroad Church, founded in 1919. The churches each have at least one permanent Danish pastor, in Denmark itself the DSUK employs a further ten employees.
