Dappenglas

A Dappenglas is a thick-walled glass vessel used in dentistry and cosmetics, approx. 30 mm high and 32 mm in diameter, for providing small amounts (2-3 ml) of chemicals . For safe handling, the prismatic lateral surface usually has an octagonal to decagonal cross section. The base and top are equipped with troughs of different depths to accommodate liquid products such as ethanol , hydrogen peroxide or solvents . The glasses are often colored to differentiate between the contents. The name goes back to the 1866 approved dentist Friedrich Wilhelm Dappen from Krefeld.
