Darcy Ward
Darcy Ward (born May 4, 1992 in Nanango , Queensland , Australia ) is a former Australian speedway driver .
Career
Ward became Speedway Junior World Champion in 2009 and 2010 and made his debut in the Speedway Individual World Championship Grand Prix in Toruń / PL on August 27, 2011, where he was able to take 3rd place straight away. Ward also competes in three of the strongest professional speedway leagues in the world: for Unibax Toruń / PL, Poole Pirates / GB and Dackarna / S.
In 2009 he also started in the German Speedway Bundesliga for AC Landshut. In the 2013 season, Ward finished 8th in the World Speedway Grand Prix, despite a fall and the associated failure for four Grand Prix races.
On August 23, 2015, Ward had an accident so badly during a run in the Polish league in a home race of his team Falubaz Zielona Góra that he suffered paraplegia .
