Hedayat Street

Darrous is a district in the north of Tehran . It borders the Pasdaran, Gholhak , Doulat and Ekhtiyarieh districts.

Before 1950, most of the land in this district - gardens and lands - belonged to the aristocrat and large landowner from the Qajar era, Haj Mehdi Gholi Khan Hedayat (Mokhber-ol Saltaneh). He held high offices and was governor of Fars and Azerbaijan during the constitutional phase . From 1927 to 1933 he served as Prime Minister under Reza Shah Pahlavi .

Several facilities in the district were named after him: for example a mosque, a medical clinic and a school, each of which is located on Hedayat Street, which is also named after him.
