The journal ÖHW - The public budget system in Austria is a quarterly specialist publication founded in 1959, in which financial issues of Austrian regional authorities are dealt with from a federal perspective. The sponsoring association is the society for public finances in Austria.

Practitioners and especially young scientists have their say with abstracts of their diploma theses or dissertations. Special topics of financial equalization are often discussed, management issues of public companies, the sustainability of social security benefits , hospital financing and health economic issues, environmental economics , housing subsidies , questions of tax reform , challenges of budget consolidation , internal auditing and controlling , national debt to cross-border leasing - Agreement.
