content

Haffner writes in his essays about people's lives and their habits. He assumes the position of the loving and funny observer of everyday life, who is amazed and amused, for example, about smoking and drinking, about annoying fellow travelers or about the pitfalls of technology. Haffner brings life to simple, but still meaningful objects - such as a cigarette. Elsewhere he grapples with the question of whether all beginnings are difficult or perhaps rather easy. In addition to the amusing character of the individual treatises, political and social aspects can also be recognized.
