The hole in the rind
The book consists of around 20 episodes that are only loosely related. The narrator is a "roader", a space traveler who tells some stories from space and discoveries on earth. This ranges from explanations of the most famous bar in the universe, the "hole in the skin", to a discussion of the origins of the universe. There is a sense of humor throughout the book similar to the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams . Mikael Niemi himself says that he was inspired by The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy .
