Datorium

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Datorium is an offer from GESIS - Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences and is used by scientists from the social and economic sciences to independently document and publish their research data . The data, metadata and the associated documents can be uploaded easily, independently and free of charge and also linked to relevant publications.

With datorium, researchers who have carried out an empirical data collection have the opportunity to upload their research data to a secure environment, to describe it and to make it available to the scientific community in a timely manner. For quality assurance purposes, all research data go through a review process carried out by GESIS - Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences. Permanent localization and reliable citability of the research data is guaranteed by persistent digital identifiers (DOI).

After publication, the research data published in datorium can be searched and used, for example, for secondary studies or for replication studies to check research results. The researchers can determine under what conditions data is shared.

Replication server

As part of the replication server project, datorium supports journals in their endeavors to increase the replicability of empirical research. Research data on which a publication is based can be made accessible via datorium and linked to the respective journal article. The Zeitschrift für Soziologie and the Soziale Welt are currently cooperating with datorium.
