Daulis (mythology)
Daulis ( ancient Greek Δαυλίς ) is a naiad of Greek mythology .
According to Pausanias , she is the daughter of the Boiotic river god Kephissos . Some of the residents of the Phocian town of Daulis were considered to be the namesake of the city, while others related the name to the wildly overgrown state of the as yet unpopulated area, which the founders called daula .
