Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree

The Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree is a viewing tree in Warren National Park in southwest Australia .

This carribree is not one of the viewing trees used for fire observation. The tree is located in Warren National Park and was expanded into a viewing tree in 1988 as part of the 200th anniversary of the European settlement of the Australian continent.

At that time this tree was probably already growing.

The platform at the top is at a height of 75 meters, while the first platform can be found at 25 meters. Over 130 steel rungs and four ladders within the platforms, each with 26 ladder rungs, you can reach the highest platform, which swings 1.5 meters in each direction in strong winds. When the weather is good, from above you have a view that stretches 40 kilometers into the country.

The tree is named after Dave Evans , a teacher, politician and resident of Pemberton . He wrote a book called Lookouts of the Karri Country . He had a special interest in viewing trees, so-called tree towers . Dave Evans was awarded the Order of Australia (OA) in 1994 for special service to the state.
