David Apiarius

David Apiarius (* around 1555 in Bern ) was a Swiss printer .

Life

David Apiarius, descendant of a German-born book printer family in Switzerland, worked as a book printer in Bern, Basel and Frankfurt am Main . He was the son of the printer Siegfried Apiarius and Klara Wäber , who worked in Bern . In 1582 Apiarius is still mentioned in Bern, but in the same year also in Basel, from where a single print is known under his name.

At the beginning of 1584 he is recorded in Frankfurt am Main as the father of a child born in the same year and baptized on February 9th, which he had illegitimately fathered with the wife of the book printer Hans Schmidt .
