David Cordier

David Cordier (born May 1, 1959 in Rochester ) is an English opera singer ( countertenor ).

Life

Cordier was first boy soprano in the cathedral choir in Rochester and a member of the choir of King's College . After completing a master's degree in mathematics in Cambridge , he continued his musical training at the Royal College of Music in London and then moved to Berlin . His musical repertoire ranges from the music of the 16th century to the present day. He is known for his interpretations of various roles in operas by Handel . As Hamor in Dietrich Hilsdorf's version of the oratorio Jephtha von Handel, he could be heard and seen at the Bonn Opera.
