David Dodge

David Francis Dodge (born August 18, 1910 in Berkeley , California , † August 1, 1974 in San Miguel de Allende , Mexico ) was an American author , mainly of detective novels and humorous travelogues . He created the tax expert and detective James "Whit" Whitney and the private investigator Al Colby. Most of his works were also translated into German, especially during the 1950s . He is best known today for the novel based on the Alfred Hitchcock film Above the Roofs of Nice .
