David Hermann

David Hermann (* 1977 ) is a German-French opera director.

Life

David Hermann studied directing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin . In 2000 he won first prize at the International Competition for Directing and Stage Design in Graz . He has already staged at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein , at the Ruhrtriennale , at the Karlsruhe State Theater and at the Basel Theater . Among other things, he realized the three-part Monteverdi cycle at the Frankfurt Opera . With his production of Mozart's Ascanio in Alba he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2006 .

Further work has taken him to De Nationale Opera in Amsterdam , the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp , the Opéra national de Lorraine in Nancy and the Teatro Real in Madrid .
