David Hernandez (* 1978 ) is a French mathematician. He is a professor at the University of Paris VII (Denis Diderot).

He received his doctorate in 2004 under Marc Rosso at the University of Paris VI and the École normal supérieure ( Représentations des algèbres affinisées quantiques: q, t-caractères et produit de fusion ) In 2009 he completed his habilitation at the University of Paris VII ( Autour des représentations des algèbres quantiques : géométrie, dualité de Langlands et catégorification des algèbres cluster ).

Hernandez also teaches at the École polytechnique .

He deals with quantum groups , cluster algebras , infinitely dimensional Lie algebras (affine Kac-Moody algebras) and their representation theory and their connections with mathematical physics and algebraic geometry.

In 2013 he received the Prix Jacques Herbrand .
