David Kitt (* 1975 in Dublin ) is an Irish musician.

Life

Kitt started playing the guitar at a young age and was already recording his own songs on a cassette recorder at the age of ten.

His musical career began while studying music at Trinity College in Dublin. He performed regularly in bars and pubs. At the same time, he collected song material for his first album Small Moments , which he recorded for the most part at home and which, according to his own statement, was not intended as a release in this form. The mix of acoustic music with subtle, folk Irish elements and electronics met with great interest from the local press and the music industry, which earned him a solid record deal.

In 2001 his second album ( The Big Romance ) was released, which was released across the UK and made him known outside of Dublin. In the following time he appeared in the opening act for bands such as Tindersticks and Superfurry Animals .

In 2002 his two albums were also released in German-speaking countries.

In 2005 he toured Europe with Emilíana Torrini .
