David Lyon

David Arthur Lyon (born December 7, 1948 ) is a sociologist at Queen's University in Kingston ( Canada ). He is the director of the Surveillance Studies Center and co-editor of the journal Surveillance & Society. He works on globalization , secularization , postmodernism and surveillance . The main topic of his research is the social consequences of surveillance, such as: B. the consolidation of exclusions and hierarchies. In 2008 Lyon was appointed a member of the Royal Society of Canada .
