David Wolfson (composer)

David Wolfson (* 1964 ) is an American composer.

Wolfson studied composition with Eugene O'Brien and John Rinehart at the Cleveland Institute of Music . He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1985, received the Darius Milhaud Society's first Darius Milhaud Award that same year and won the Bascom Little Musical Theater Composition Competition with the short opera Rainwait . For four years he was the assistant music director of the Cleveland Play House and taught at the Play House Youtheatre .

For fourteen years he composed the music for Story Salad , a series of children's stage revues seen by more than a million children, teachers and parents, a series of drama music and the songs for the show Country Critter Jamboree , which was released in 1989 Times was performed. From 1989 to 1993 he was composer and musical director of the EM / R Dance Co. , after which he directed Wolfson dance & music with the choreographer Lynn Wichern Wichern . Their last work together was Breath: The Passionate Life and Extraordinary Language of Emily Dickinson , a musical theater work performed at St. Mark Church in New York in 1996 . From 2002 to 2007 Wolfson was musical director of the New York Theatrical Community Chorus , then until 2010 musical director and composer of the Experience Vocal Dance Company .
