David de Hooch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David de Hooch (probably active in the mid-17th century) was a Dutch painter.

Little is known about the life of David de Hooch. Art history considers it possible that he was perhaps a member of the Utrecht family of painters of the same name and thus probably a son of Carel Cornelisz. de Hooch , who he resembles stylistically, and was the brother of the well-known genre painter Pieter de Hooch . But there is no evidence of this.

David de Hooch had specialized in Italian landscapes.
