Davilex is a Dutch software development company and former game maker (as Davilex Games). The company was founded in 1986 and is based in Veenendaal .

Company history

With just ten employees, Davilex has had commercial success with games such as Autobahn Raser , Urlaub Raser and many other games, but the games received rather poor ratings in the specialist press.

In 2000 the game Invasion Germany was released , which is based on the Dutch original AmsterDoom . Here the player has to fend off an alien invasion in well-known locations in Germany. Davilex was warned by the collecting society Bild-Kunst for unauthorized use of the eagle because of a scene in which the player can shoot the federal eagle in the plenary hall of the Reichstag , which then croaks.

Davilex had secured licenses such as Knight Rider and Miami Vice and developed games for these two well-known film series. Davilex developed for the PlayStation 2 , Xbox and Windows . Davilex stopped game development in 2005 because the games were no longer profitable enough and were not well received by the trade press and gamers.
