Dawda Kawsu Jawara was the manager of The Road Chef Restaurant at the Barra Ferry Terminal in Barra .

Jawara ran in the 2017 parliamentary elections as a United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate in the Upper Fulladu West constituency in the Janjanbureh Administrative Region . With 37.04% he was able to win the constituency before Ismaila Cham (GDC) for himself.
