Dawid Isa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dawid Isa (who died in 1882 in Mihirkan ) was a jesidisches leader in Sinjar . He was the son and successor of Isa Agha .

Life

Dawid Isa was born in the Yezidi village of Mihirkan as the first son of Isa Agha. After the death of his father in 1875 he took over the management of the village.

In 1882 Ottoman troops attacked Mihirkan, Dawid Isa led the resistance and was killed in the fighting. At the time his wife was heavily pregnant, Isa could not see the birth of his first son, which is why the son was named after his father Dawid.

After Isa's death, his younger brother Hesso Isa was named his successor until Isa's son Dawid Dawid was old enough to take the lead.
