dbate.de (pronunciation [diːbɛɪ̯t]) is a video and discussion platform. The focus is on eyewitness videos and Skype interviews. dbate.de went online for the first time in November 2014.

Concept and examples

Various video formats are shown on dbate.de and put up for public discussion: video diaries, interviews, columns by video bloggers, documentaries. Often the authors of the eyewitness videos give additional video interviews. As a rule, you will not be compensated for this.

In disputes, questions such as “legalize gay marriage - yes or no?” Or euthanasia are discussed. dbate.de also publishes previously unpublished interviews, including those with Helmut Kohl. In addition, the portal aggregates content from the Internet into so-called "Flash videos".

Production and cooperation partner

The website is operated by the Hamburg production company ECO Media TV-Produktion . Since December 2014 recorded dbate.de addition its own channel on spiegel.tv, the Web-TV from Spiegel Online , and cooperates with dctp.tv, the web TV of dctp .
