De falne til minne
De falne til minne is the name of a monument in the Norwegian city of Ålesund .
The memorial commemorates those who died in World War II and is located east of Ålesund Church . It was created by sculptor Finn Eriksen in 1948 and unveiled in 1950.
The monument standing on a pedestal, around 2.50 meters high, was made of granite . It shows a grieving family consisting of a father, mother and child. On the base is the Norwegian inscription:
