Decretum laudis

The decretum laudis is a commendation decree in Catholic canon law , with which the Pope officially approves a new institutional establishment ( order , priestly community). Although it does not mean final recognition, it does mean independence from the local bishop in internal administration and thus the creation of a Congregatio juris Pontificii .
