Defect healing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A defect healing is an improvement in the condition of mostly serious illness, but not to a complete restoration of health ( restitutio ad integrum leads). The remaining impairments are known as residuals .

In everyday medical practice, defect healing is common because many disease states can be improved, but not completely remedied (e.g. fracture with joint involvement, stroke , heart attack ). The term should not be used in relation to chronic diseases.
