Defjay is a private radio broadcaster specializing in contemporary R&B .

history

Defjay started on October 5, 2006 via satellite (Astra analog sound sub-carrier Viva), cable and DVB-T in Berlin. From January 10, 2007 digital DVB-S reception on Astra was also possible. On September 1, 2008, Defjay surrendered its frequencies to Radio Paloma , which is also operated by Unitcom GmbH ; since then Defjay has only been distributed via the Internet. Radio Paloma was designed as an alternative to the nationwide station Radio Melodie , which was discontinued on March 31, 2008 .
