Deiniol Llyr Jones (born November 18, 1977 in Carmarthen ) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays in the second row . He is active for the Cardiff Blues and has played seven times for the Welsh national team .

Jones began studying chemistry at the University of Bath in 1997 , where he became aware of the local rugby club Bath RFC . After three years in Bath, he was loaned to the Welsh club Ebbw Vale RFC in 2000 and then moved to Bridgend . With the establishment of the regional teams in Wales, he went to the Celtic Warriors , which were however disbanded after a season. This is how he came to the Cardiff Blues, with which he has been active since 2004.

Jones played in all youth national teams before making his debut for the men's selection against Samoa in November 2000 . Since then it has only been used sporadically, most recently in June 2009.
