history

The eaves half-timbered building with a half- hipped roof in Mittleren Straße 17 is part of a former closed courtyard and inscribed with 1790. Parts of the house go back to the 16th century. It was the seat of the Hirsau caste bailiffs in Ditzingen, and at the end of the 18th century the north side was provided with a solid base wall. The classicist door frames with the mill wheel as the guild symbol of the castle miller , who was the owner of the property at the time, are remarkable .

The badly dilapidated building was renovated from 1980 to 1981 and has served as the Dean's Office for the Protestant church district of Ditzingen ever since . The originally associated farm buildings were demolished in the course of the renovation. There is now a parking lot in their place.
