Decontamination vehicles (in Germany for short decon vehicles , in Austria also called deco vehicles ) enable the transport and use of equipment for decontamination .

These are mostly emergency vehicles of the fire brigade , in rarer cases also of the technical relief organization (THW) . They belong to the ABC service component of civil protection and disaster control .

The vehicles can be named differently depending on the intended purpose or type of decontamination. Established names in Germany are:

In addition, there are trailers or roll-off containers - often built in-house - for decontamination purposes.

The decontamination vehicles and their crew are supported by other vehicles from the ABC train or the local hazardous goods train .
